What is

InnoDI Water Treatment Pvt. Ltd. has developed a very innovative water treatment technology that can treat ground or surface water containing high dissolved salts and toxins such as fluorides, heavy metals, Arsenic, Nitrates, Bacteria etc. to produce clean drinkable water meeting WHO standards.

Traditionally ground water treatment is done using Reverse Osmosis Technology. This technology wastes lots of water during treatment, uses much power and chemicals and has a high operating cost for delivering drinking water

The technology from InnoDI is called Capacitive De-ionization (CDI), which is an excellent alternative to RO technology. This is a high recovery system where water wastage is just 20% as against 70% from a RO system. It does not use any chemicals, consumes very low power and has the lowest operating cost for treating water when compared to any other system in the market today. The unique features about this product are:

Benefits of CDI

Low water wastage

Compared to conventional RO systems that waste more than 50% of water, the maximum water wastage with CDI is 20%. This results in long-term conservation of ground water.

Low Operating Cost

CDI uses no chemicals and has low consumables for operation. It consumes less power and the total cost of producing treated water works in the range of 3-4 paise per liter.

Retained minerals in water

CDI removes all toxic chemicals in water like fluoride, nitrate, arsenic etc. but is able to retain essential minerals like calcium, magnesium etc. which are required for body.

Single Phase / Solar based operation

InnoDI’s CDI based system can operate on single phase power and also Solar or other renewable energy based systems.

How it works

The system comprises “CDI Cells” which has several electrodes stacked in a compact case. Water is sent through these electrodes at a very low pressure and as water flows through these electrodes a voltage difference is applied (forming a capacitor) between them to disassociate ions present in water.

As water moves through these electrodes, a direct current at a potential difference of 1.6 Volt is supplied. This creates an electrostatic field that attracts the ions dissolved in water to the electrodes. Operating as low voltages, electrolysis and gas production will not occur. The result is the partial or total demineralization of the water.

The electrodes behave like those of a normal condenser. At a certain point, the ions will cover the whole surface of the electrodes saturating them. When this occurs, the system senses the potential difference and automatically reverses the polarity of the electrodes. By doing so, the ions that are stuck to the electrodes gets disengaged.

Ions Removal Process

Ion Removal

Water is sent at a low pressure through the electrodes. A low voltage is given, and the ions get attracted to opposite charged electrodes.Hence removed from the water .

Regeneration

Electrodes become saturated because of many ions sticking to it. then system automatically changes the polarity. The ions sticking to the electrodes fall off resulting in the drain.

Drain

The water with the concentrated salts gets out of the system as drain. Once these salts are removed, the Polarity is reversed and the cycle to remove ions starts again (Step 1).

Why we are Unique
